HELD is for anyone seeking steadiness, restoration, and meaningful connection to themselves and others. Accessible to all bodies and comfort levels. No experience required. No performance expected.
Our offerings are designed for individuals, workplaces, nonprofits, caregivers, grief groups, healthcare professionals, women navigating life transitions, seniors and aging-in-place communities, and groups or individuals moving through stress, change, or growth. You do not need prior experience with yoga, meditation, breathwork, or any mind–body practice to participate. All sessions are adaptable, accessible, and guided with sensitivity to different bodies, backgrounds, abilities, and nervous systems.
HELD may be especially supportive for those experiencing stress, burnout, anxiety, life transitions, chronic health challenges, or simply a desire to slow down and reconnect. We also work with groups looking to cultivate resilience, focus, emotional regulation, and sustainable well-being.
Whether you are seeking quiet restoration, structured nervous system support, seasonal ritual, or shared community experience, a thoughtfully curated HELD experience will meet you where you are. About the Experience
-
You can expect a calm, non-judgmental environment with soft lighting, curated sound, optional aromatherapy, calming rituals, and a selection of practices that invite presence and internal awareness. There is no pressure to perform or achieve anything specific during the experience.
-
In our current phase, HELD primarily partners with host venues that provide space and foundational setup. We provide complimentary grounding ritual items including optional aromatherapy, sound healing, light ambiance, and seasonal continuations. Clients bring personal comfort items unless otherwise noted.
This model allows us to prioritize accessibility, sustainability, and high-quality facilitation while keeping experiences financially and physically sustainable.
For select retreats or private bookings, customized arrangements may be available.
-
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement and rest. Layers are helpful, as comfort and temperature levels vary between individuals.
We recommend bringing a bottle of water as well as drinking water prior to the HELD experience. Each event description will list any other items that are required.

HELD experiences are designed to feel warm, intentional, grounded, and supportive of nervous system regulation. While specific needs may vary by offering, we ask partner venues to provide a space that is clean, quiet, and free from interruption during the scheduled time.
Ideal conditions include:
Convenient access to the space for clients
Soft, adjustable lighting (fluorescent lighting should be turned off, as it can be a nervous system violation for this experience)
Minimal external noise or foot traffic
Comfortable room temperature
Enough room for participants to lie down comfortably for rest-based practices, and to sit upright with ease
Access to clean restrooms
Chairs available when needed for accessibility
Participants are typically asked to bring personal comfort items such as yoga mats, blankets, or journals unless otherwise noted.
We coordinate closely with each partner in advance to ensure alignment on technology, setup, timing, and flow. Our goal is to collaborate in a way that feels seamless and mutually supportive, allowing the environment itself to contribute to the experience of being HELD.

Philosophy + Research
-
It means our practices at HELD are grounded in established research from fields such as psychology, neuroscience, integrative medicine, public health, vagal regulation, and mind-body medicine rather than belief-based paradigms. This allows HELD to intentionally draw from research to shape offerings without overclaiming outcomes. Learn more.
-
Research related to stress physiology, nervous‑system regulation, vagal tone, mindfulness‑based interventions, gentle movement, and sound. We prioritize modalities supported by credible evidence and align our work with integrative and public health frameworks. This includes accessible experiences that support relaxation, emotional regulation, focus, and resilience. Research evidence connects gentle movement, breath regulation, meditation, sound intervention, and guided relaxation with improved perceived stress, autonomic balance, emotional well-being, and more. Read about the research behind our practices.
-
Interoception is the ability to notice internal signals in the body. HELD helps strengthen interoceptive awareness by bringing focus to sensations like breath, tension, or temperature with curiosity, which supports emotional self-regulation, resiliency, and informed responses to stress. Interoceptive awareness is linked to emotional regulation, stress resilience, and nervous system balance. Integrating interoception helps make wellness practices more effective and personally relevant. Learn more.
-
Trauma-responsive means we design and facilitate practices with attention to choice, consent, pacing, and nervous system safety. Clients are always invited, not required, to engage in any practice.
